With a $2,500 grant from Georgia Power, the Friends of Smyrna Library purchased four new computer tables for us. These tables allowed the library to set up two workstations with six Internet computers each and a networked printer. Wait time was greatly reduced and more public Internet access became available.
The new computer tables helped solve another problem. More users means more people are looking for a place to study in the Library. At night, students would cruise around upstairs, hoping someone would leave, so they could grab a seat. Repurposing (love that word!) the old computer tables provided study space for eight more people and a little relief for the students.
