Joe Kirby, author, journalist, and historian, presented a slideshow/lecture at the Smyrna Public Library yesterday on the topic of D-Day, organized around photos he took on a recent trip to Normandy. The talk was very well received. With the 70th anniversary of D-Day just around the corner, this seemed an especially appropriate topic for the library's popular first Sunday lecture series, sponsored by the Friends of the Smyrna Library. Joe Kirby is the editorial page editor of the Marietta Daily Journal, the author of four books, and an accomplished speaker. Thank you Mr. Kirby!
