First Sunday Lecture: Food History of the South

Terri Carter, from the UGA Cobb Extension Office, helped us kick off our celebration of Georgia's culinary traditions today. Ms Carter's lecture explored the roots of our contemporary food by looking into European, Native American, and African history. Thanks for coming everyone!

Speaker Biography:

Terri Carter is a Cobb Master Gardener and program assistant in the Family and Consumer Science Department for the University of Georgia Cobb County Extension. She is also a graduate of HABESHA Inc., an urban gardening training program. She graduated as the top female student in the 2014 class of HABESHA. She went on to establish herself as a food demonstrator at the Mableton Farmers Market and became the garden coordinator at Historic Mableton Community Garden. She also works closely with the Reconnecting Our Roots Community Garden downtown Marietta as well as the Austell Community Garden.
