Movie DVD Donation Drive Starts Today

Did you know the Smyrna Public Library has a large collection of movie DVDs that you check out for free?  If you have gently used movie DVDs - Disney Children's Classics, Hollywood Blockbusters, Chick Flicks, Academy Award Winners, Documentaries or other movies that you love and no longer need - please donate them at the Library Circulation Desk to expand the library's collection. If you need a 2017 donation tax receipt one can be provided if you donate by December 30.  The library is closed on the 31st.

(Please Note: This donation drive request is for Movie DVDs to be added to the collection. VCR Tapes will not be added to the library collection.)

FOSL Holiday Celebration Cancelled Due to Snow Storm

We are disappointed that we have to cancel our Holiday Celebration with FOSL that was scheduled for Saturday night (tomorrow, December 9 at 6:30 pm) at the library due to today's snow storm.

Thank you, DixieLUG for the incredible LEGO exhibit and fundraiser at the Smyrna Public Library this weekend.  Everyone had a great time.   

About DixieLUG:

DixieLUG is a LEGO user group for adult fans of LEGO in the southeast United States. DixieLUG has members from Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee. The primary focus of the LUG is socialization, sharing, and collaboration of the LEGO hobby. DixieLUG hold approximately six meeting a year are participates in several public displays each year.

DixieLUG members are collectors, hobbists, artists, and fans of the brick!

Successful LEGO Show and Fundraiser Held

The Smyrna Public Library hosted a 2-day Lego Show and fundraiser with DixieLUG this weekend. Almost 200 attendees enjoyed trains, detailed buildings, winter scenes and more. LEGO fans of all ages were inspired by the things they can build with plastic bricks. Proceeds of ticket sales ($5 individual / $10 family) will support activities sponsored by the Friends of Smyrna Library. 

DixieLUG is a LEGO® user group for adult fans of LEGO® in the Atlanta metro with a primary focus on socialization, sharing, and collaboration of the LEGO® hobby. Handmade holiday decorations are for sale by the Friends of Smyrna Library. Items are in the atrium. Bows are $3, tree toppers $4, candle sets $30, and wreaths $75.
