Friends of Smyrna Library Announces Restart of In-Person Activities After Pandemic Hiatus

The Friends of Smyrna Library are excited to announce that we are restarting in-person activities in the Smyrna Public Library.  The art exhibits begin again in March and the First Sunday Lecture Series begins again in April.  Book sales and volunteer events will soon be announced.

The library just learned today that Youth Services Librarian Rebecca Power was nominated for the American Library Association’s "I Love My Librarian Award," which honors librarians across the country for their impact in their community. Library customer Abby R. wrote, "Rebecca Power has been our children’s librarian since 2015 but quickly became much more to our family. My 9 year old son Henry was almost 3 when we met her, and he still relies heavily (as do I!) on Ms Rebecca’s book recommendations and seeks her out to chat when we visit. During COVID-19 closures, she made sure we were able to gain access to curbside pickup as soon as it became available as she knew my voracious reader would be suffering without enough books to consume!" Congratulations, Ms. Rebecca!

Teen Crafts for a Cause: Winter Bird Feeders

Our Smyrna birds can nibble on some winter snacks, thanks to Smyrna Library Teens! Last night at Crafts for a Cause, they made a huge box full of feeders--lucky birds!

The Friends of Smyrna Library Reading Group to Stay Virtual in 2022

Ferst Readers of Cobb County Smyrna, Division Fundraiser

Beginning Wednesday, Dec 15th, Youth Services will be selling a variety of Harry Potter ornaments and wand pencil sets made by Smyrna Library Teens. 100% of the proceeds will go to Ferst Readers of Cobb County  Smyrna, Division.

100% of the proceeds will go to Ferst Readers of Cobb County, a non-profit organization that provides a free book to registered children each month from birth until the child's 5th birthday.

Friends of Smyrna Library Donates to Youth Services

The Friends of Smyrna Library purchased a new rug for Youth Services. The fish pond design has lots of animals for the kids to discover. The kids can then go next door to the real pond and find similar animals!
